CMUS's principal researcher and alternate director, Carla Pinochet, will take part in the panel discussion "Cultural Battle? Censorship and Cuts to Culture Funds," to be held this Thursday, August 20, at Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano.

How are political and budgetary decisions impacting the development of the arts and culture in Chile? This is the question at the heart of the panel, which brings together representatives from the artistic, academic, and cultural worlds to analyze and debate the topic. Discussion will cover culture, funding, freedom of creation, and the future of cultural policy in Chile.

Moderated by journalist Antonella Estévez, the panel also includes Ernesto Orellana (UNA), Andrea Gutiérrez (UAcademia), and Rocío Alorda (Colegio de Periodistas), along with special guest Deputy Ignacio Achurra, a member of the culture committee.

The event is free, with prior registration required at this link.
