The Millennium Nucleus in Musical and Sound Cultures (CMUS) will hold the seminar Sonic Practices, New Technologies, and the Environment on Tuesday, September 1, at Universidad Alberto Hurtado. The event is organized in collaboration with the Centro de Estudios Mediales UAH, Fundación Mar Adentro, and the Goethe Institut.

The invited guests are Paula Schopf (University of Berlin), Nicolás Alvarado (Paisaje del Pacífico), Felipe Otondo (Universidad Austral), and Carla Pinochet, CMUS alternate director.

The event will feature two discussion panels. The first, "Fourth Meeting with Media Artists," will be moderated by Daniela Fugellie, principal researcher at CMUS and organizer of the seminar. Participants will include composer Paula Schopf, who will present "Magallanes V. Listening to the Territory as the Production of Knowledge," and musician and producer Nicolás Alvarado with "Atmospheric Sonorities: Expanded Listening and Sound Archive."

The second panel, called "Transfer Projects for Environmental Education," will be moderated by Luz Moreno, associate researcher at CMUS. This session will feature Felipe Otondo, presenting on the Soundlapse project and its creative pathways for environmental education, and Carla Pinochet, with the presentation "The School of Listening: An Educational Model for Questioning Context."
