Daniela Fugellie published the article "Transformations of an Unfinished Melody Fifty Years After the Death of Jorge Peña Hen" in the Chilean Music Journal.

The lead researcher at CMUS wrote in the abstract: "During 2023, Peña Hen received more than twenty tributes held throughout the country. In practically all of them, the melody that Peña Hen wrote on a small scrap of paper during his captivity—and which the musical community has titled the Unfinished Melody—was performed. This paper addresses the circulation of this melody during the commemorations of the fiftieth anniversary of the military coup, understanding its trajectories and transformations as spaces of collective memory that involved diverse actors and geographic spheres of national classical music. This phenomenon invites us to ask how the classical music scene commemorated these fifty years through its own practices and possibilities."
