Within the framework of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the coup d'état in Chile, and the working group of the same name formed by our CMUS researchers, the textile exhibition "Músicas del exilio chileno: memoria y creación" ["Music of the Chilean Exile: Memory and Creation"] was held from November 16 to 24. This project sought to connect musical research with the everyday experience of those who inhabit the area where the Casa Memoria in Valparaíso is located. In terms of creative work, a collaborative textile piece was exhibited, born out of the personal and collective memory of the local community. In terms of dissemination, research findings were presented on the convergences between culture and politics, and more specifically on the discography of Chilean musical exile (1973-1990).

To mark the exhibition, opening and closing talks were held. The first, held on Thursday, November 26, featured Silvia Rühl, director of the Osvaldo Rodríguez Musso archive; Karen Donoso, PhD and professor of History (USACH); and participants from the textile creation workshop. The closing panel discussion, titled "Las vidas de Víctor Jara: obra y legado" ["The Lives of Víctor Jara: Work and Legacy"], featured CMUS researchers Daniel Party (PUC) and Javier Rodríguez Aedo (PUCV).
