First screenings of the documentary "Himno"

The documentary Himno began its first large-scale screenings in March. Himno, un documental sobre la canción 'El pueblo unido jamás será vencido' [Anthem: A Documentary about the Song "El pueblo unido jamás será vencido"] (2024) is a research project filmed in several countries tracing the history of the well-known song composed in 1973 by Sergio Ortega and Quilapayún. The film is directed by Martín Farías and produced by Eileen Karmy (CMUS associate researcher). Himno had a free, open-air screening at Plaza Ñuñoa on March 24 (donations were collected for Bomberos de Chile [Chile's Fire Department], in support of firefighting efforts amid the wildfires in the Valparaíso region) and a preview screening on April 2 at the Cineteca Nacional (CCLM). Its official premiere will be Thursday, April 4, in various theaters across the country associated with Miradoc.
