In October: the VII International Seminar on Cultural Policies

A few days ago, the VII International Seminar on Cultural Policies was announced. It will take place on October 29 and 30, launching "Culture 2050: The Power of Culture."

This gathering is organized by the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM), the Observatory of Cultural Policies (OPC), and Fondecyt de Iniciación No. 11240541 "Toward a Sociology of Cultural Policies," based at the Faculty of Communication and Image of the University of Chile, whose principal investigator is Tomás Peters, a member of CMUS.

According to the organizers, "this initiative seeks to open a process of reflection, dialogue, and collective construction around the future of culture in Chile, contributing to the projection and strengthening of the cultural sector in the face of the profound political, economic, social, and technological transformations of our time. Over both days, we will bring together international and national specialists, as well as representatives from cultural institutions and organizations, artists, and sector agents to discuss the challenges and horizons of cultural policy."

The program and guest speakers will be announced soon.
