In late July, Tomás Peters traveled to Brazil to attend the XXXV Latin American Congress of Sociology ALAS (Latin American Sociological Association). CMUS's principal researcher gave the presentation "Twenty Years of Transformations in Musical Participation Practices in Chile: A Historical and Current Analysis Based on the Cultural Participation Surveys (2004-2024)."

His presentation sought to "understand how the musical participation practices of the Chilean population have transformed between 2004 and 2024, and how current in-person, digital, and creative forms of engagement with music shape socially differentiated participation profiles. The most significant transformation of recent decades lies not only in more people gaining access to music, but in the diversification of the ways of doing so. However, the ability to combine these modalities remains closely linked to the unequal distribution of social, cultural, and technological resources."
